Sales Engineer

Working at Siama:

We are a small team of season professionals who strive to make customers happy. There is a tremendous amount of pride and craftmanship in the products we produce. We are a startup, but that doesn’t mean we expect you to dedicate your entire life to the company! ROLE

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting all business development activities, customer engagements and marketing events throughout the world.  You will be a technical expert and demonstrate proficiency with the deployment, configuration and utilization of Siama System’s solutions.  You will call upon and work closely with product marketing and development teams to ensure the right technical solution is being positioned for each customer.  You will be required to travel for both customer visits and attendance at trade shows and other industry events. You will be responsible for both pre-sales and post-sales support of all customers.

TASKS

  • Support sales teams with lead generation and prospecting
  • Pre-sales technical presentations
  • Become an expert in all of Siama’s products
  • Help maintain product documentation and user guides
  • Help create content for the website, including instructional videos
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the world
  • Ensure that every customer inquiry is responded to in a reasonable amount of time
  • Maintain records of pre-sales and post-sales activities in Hubspot
  • Develop the proper technical solution for the customer and support initial deployments
  • Prepare and deliver product demonstrations and evaluation units
  • Contribute to response for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Act as the “voice-of-the-customer” internally
  • Remain up-to-date on industry technology trends
  • Attend trade shows, including booth setup and staffing

REQUIREMENTS

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • A good understanding of Cloud, Data Center and Communications Service Provider network architecture and business models
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Sales Engineer
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual
  • Good soft-skills, including clearly communicating internally and externally with customers, courteous, professional, social, patient, good integrity and work ethic
  • Good personal hygiene
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 15 days a month anywhere in the world (overall average around 5-7 days a month)
  • The willingness to learn new technology
  • Canadian citizen
  • Fluent in English(written and spoken) and French (spoken)
  • Excellent packet networking knowledge (switching and routing)

Desired:

  • A graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an MBA
  • Up to date on industry standards and new technologies on the horizon
